Thanksgiving, Black Thursday-Friday shopping and mail call

I had to take to Thanksgiving hiatus to spend some much needed family time. If you know me you know that I am a SAHM but I am not Betty Crocker! My contribution for dinner was candied yams=win(almost a failure), Punch=obvious win, mini apple cheesecakes=total win thank goodness for pinterest. And I also made mini peach bread pudding cups but lets not even go there lol. We played twister after dinner and I felt like I had been hit by a truck! *old lady*

Did you know black Friday has been turned into black Thursday this year? Consumerism at its finest! Anywho, last year was my first year and for lack of a better expression it was awesome!!! So, I was super excited this year. Unfortunately, the stores forgot to get the memo and I was bored out of my mind in the stores. The sales were lacking awesomeness that I was hoping for. I have enough flat screens to light up the block and every small kitchen appliance known to man so there was nothing I really needed. But if you know me you know that if the price is right I will totally buy something I don't need. Don't judge me, it will only encourage my habit. My sister came away with two flat screens and two blu-ray players and its about time sista! She was such a winner<shoppers envy> smh

Subscription Boxes

I have just recently gotten the subscription box bug. Where have you been all my life? I have not subscribed to all the boxes I would like because, well I do have bills to pay but I have given a few whirl.

My very first subscription was to Celebrate Crate
Dets: $20/mth shipping included. This subscription box is for individuals such as myself who love to entertain and make things. So far I have received a box October and November. Each month has a theme and October was Halloween themed Ob-v!

The crate includes:

I love the the glow in the dark paint, the ice tray and the spigot because they are things I can use over and over. The card is sure to get used because I love writing personalized cards especially to my hubby. And the balls? My kids have been throwing those around since the box arrived. I will share the November crate in a few days.

A few other subs I have subscribed to are Goodies Co Box and Cravebox. Goodies is a box backed by Walmart which includes 5-7 new food items per month for you try. I am obsessed with this sub! The cost is $7/mth which is soooo reasonable and if you want in you have to go to the site to request an invite. I have yet to receive a box yet but when I do you will hear my screams! Cravebox is $10-15/mth depending on the box and I have heard only good things. I'll keep you posted as the boxes come in! Below are past boxes from these two subs.

Officer Candidate School Wk.6

My hubby is in week six of OCS and is currently in the field completing land navigation. The last time I spoke to him he had just finished the branching ceremony where he was given the branch (job) he would have as an officer. After months upon months of discussing which branch would be best I had decided that I would be fine with any branch other than Infantry. Of course my super soldier was not convinced. Ultimately, he was given Adjutant General branch detail INFANTRY!!I have always been my husbands biggest cheerleader and I won't stop now just because I didn't get my way. Insert: smile and military spouse understanding. With the branch detail program my hubby will be an Infantry Officer for 2-3 years then he will transition into the AG branch. He is thrilled because now he will be able to attend Airborne and Ranger which is huge for him. Still waiting to hear when he will begin IBOLC which is Infantry school to see if the kids and myself will join him.

I have included a link to the clip of him crossing the stage that was graciously recorded by a fellow army wife who was able to attend. Thanks again Ileana!

Branching Ceremony

*BTW I just purchased my dress for the Officers ball...finally! It sure was hard to find that thin line between sexy and skanky, lol.

Why blogging? Because I may be able to help...

I decided to start this blog five minutes ago! It took me longer to figure out what would be the best fit for a blog name than it did to figure out this was an awesome idea!

Who Am I?
I am a wife of a Sergeant in the United States Army who is currently in Officer Candidate School who, by the way, I will frequently refer to as "Super Soldier" :) I have two children a five year old boy, Britton and a twenty one year old girl, Chloe.
Being married and having children does not define who I am but it does influence everything I choose to do. I have a Bachelor's of Arts degree from the University of West Florida in Public Relations however, I am currently a stay at home mom presently.

Why am I blogging?
I find myself searching for answers everyday online. Answers for what I should expect in the next stages of being a military wife, answers on how to balance my fears of leaving my children with actually taking a moment to myself, answers on how to teach my son all the things his teacher somehow does not have the resources to do herself and answers for how I can save money on any and everything! As I help myself, I plan to help other military families and families in general through my own experiences and research.

Once I figure all these things out...I will be winning! Come win with me!!!
